This is one of the best book on Digital Communication fundamentals. I had the privilege of attending a few Lapidoth's lectures at the time of writing this book. Besides being an outstanding teacher and lecturer, this book shows the clarity with which he presents some of the key ideas of digital communication system. I wish, I had this book during my undergraduate days. To me, this book ranks among the very best stuffs written on the topic of Digital Communication foundations; something which will tag along with the likes of Principles of Communication Engineering by Wozencraft&Jacobs [...] and the recent one from Bob Galleger titled Principles of Digital Communication [...].

The above 3 words usually don't go together, but this book does exactly that.

I'm a graduate student at MIT, and I must say that this would be one of the best

books on digital communication that I have seen. The balance that it draws

between intuition and rigorous is outstanding, especially for a book targeted

towards undergraduates. I recommend this book to one and all.
